Stars remember Aaliyah on 10-year death anniversary

MISSY ELLIOTT and rapper DRAKE are among the stars who have paid tribute to late singer AALIYAH to mark the 10-year anniversary of her death. The Try Again hitmaker died in a plane crash in the Bahamas on 25 August, 2001, at the age of 22. Her close friend and collaborator Elliott remembered the singer on Tuesday (25Aug11), admitting she still misses her friend. In a post on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "Aaliyah til this very day u r (you are) still in your own lane! Ure (your) music is timeless! We miss u! #WeLoveuAaliyah!" Rapper Drake has also added his own tribute, declaring "RIP Baby Girl... in my ear at every show letting me know the next move I should make. Love you." Singer Alexandra Burke adds, "You are still one of my inspirations. Blasting Aaliyah and Michael Jackson so loud I can't think!"
