I have a 'thing' about candles. I just love them! I'm aware that they are associated mostly with winter and Christmas time, but I still persist in having mine alight even in the Summer months; particularly at a late night evening BBQ. Anywho, I was away at the weekend and stumbled across a cute as cutiepie gift shop that sold Lily Flame Candles. Now, you may not instantly know the name, but I'm near on positive that you would recognise these.
They come in little tins, with embossed paper adorning the sides and lids which bare the sweetest names ever. I was instantly drawn to 'Fairy Dust' because I am a self- confessed fairy fan and would love nothing more than to have my very own bag of the stuff! The smell itself is divine, I literally cannot stop sniffing it. Its so hard to describe correctly, but I would say its a super sweet, yet musky smell with a kind of powdery, sweet pea undertone. Its the company's most popular candle and I'm definitely not surprised.
The wax itself is a blush pink colour, with these four pink and cream triangles peeping out of the top. I also love the fact that these candles are in a tin, because they look so much tidier than normal candles, not to mention are easier to store. This pot of loveliness was just £8.75, which I thought was very reasonable really. You can buy them from gift shops, selected Debenhams stores, or online here.
Here's three of my over current favourite candles.
These are Pink Sands by Yankee Candle ( a watermelon scent ) and Bahama Breeze ( a fresh and fruity cocktail-ly aroma) also by Yankee, and Diptique's Roses ( yes, a pungent rosy floral scent that really is beautiful). I know that candles ultimately are for burning, so therefore many people would say that they are a pointless purchase; especially as some can be very expensive. But I beg to differ! I adore the delicious scents, as they make my room smell delightful! I love laying back in my bed, and being able to breathe in the lush fragrances they give off. They are an affordable luxury that add class and above all; give any room that lovely homely feeling :)
What are your fave candles? I would love to know!
Lots of Love,
jacque
