Sentenced to total of six years for arranging cash and flights for Moses Nteyoho's killers
Victim: Moses Nteyoho
Four women who helped the murderers of a 22-year-old man flee to Kenya were sentenced to a total of six years in prison yesterday (Nov 10). Moses Nteyoho of Abbey Wood, south London, was stabbed to death in October 2009 while making his way to a local youth project. The court heard how Ahmed Ghele, Osman Amin, Liban Ali and Burhan Yusuf travelled to the south London estate in a taxi with the sole intention of attacking or chasing some boys on the night of the murder. A week after the attack, the gang and some of their female relatives fled to Kenya to evade justice. However, all were promptly arrested when they returned to the UK separately during late 2009 and mid 2010. On July 30, Ghele, Amin, Ali and Yusuf, were sentenced to a total of 54 years in prison for the murder. Maria Abdullali Mohamed, Fardowsa Adam, Suleqo al Mohamed and Khadra Mohamed Abdi were each sentenced to 18 months behind bars for helping to arrange cash and flights for the killers so they could flee the UK. Detective Inspector Cliff Haines said: The investigation into the murder of Moses Nteyoho was long, complicated and extremely traumatic for his family who acted with dignity throughout, even though they had been devastated by Moses brutal and pointless death. This process was made even longer by the fact that these women perverted the course of the investigation by helping the murderers to leave the UK. I hope their sentences send a message to anyone who thinks they are not committing a crime by helping a suspect to evade justice," he added.
Those sentenced are:
- Maria Abdullali Mohamed, 36 (1/1/75) of Woolwich, SE18
- Fardowsa Adam, 45 (20/4/66) of Woolwich, SE18
- Suleqo al Mohamed, 34 (1/1/77) of Woolwich, SE18
- Khadra Mohamed Abdi, 53 (26/6/58) of C
