A book you love
Wow! Without going much into the summary of the book, I must confess that "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe is the book that I love. This is one must have book in any home library knowing the cultural details in the book makes one miss home and embrace the modern change in our African traditions today. As you all know that I am originally from kenya in nairobi States so reading a book about Eastern Africa makes my day. This book just makes me think of my fun childhood days knowing I grew up watching the actual play being performed every Thursday evening on Nollywood channel 329 uk. Then as a little girl of around 11 years old, I was so intrigued by the storyline and Okonkwo the main character in the novel was played perfectly by my favorite Nigerian male actor back in the day who happened to be "Pete Edochie." He truly won my heart with his acting skill and played the role so real that I had to buy the book by force. The book ended sadly knowing Okonkwo killed himself thus living the villagers in a state of shock. I have read the book so many times and never felt bored or tired, each time I read the book feels like the first time and gets me dreaming of my childhood days. Therefore, I knew deep down that I love this book.
